Why this one matters.
“Used to wrapping his arms around Goalkeeper of the Year awards, Neuer had an honor wrapped around his arm in 2016 when he was named captain of the national team." Panini's card back records the handover — and it carried the heaviest possible endorsement. Former Germany skipper Lothar Matthäus heartily approved, saying: "He has the personality, the demeanor and the reputation, within the team, to make a really good captain." Neuer would lead Die Mannschaft into the defense of their world title in Russia wearing that armband, pictured here in the green striped goalkeeper kit inside Prizm's shield-shaped frame. This Signatures card is the Black Prizm parallel: a true One of One, marked "1 of 1" on the back and confirmed on the PSA label. Neuer's blue-ink autograph sits on a rainbow-refractor signature panel set against the blackest Prizm finish, encapsulated and graded PSA MINT 9. For the sweeper-keeper who redefined the position — 2014 world champion, FIFA World Cup winner and a wall of IFFHS Goalkeeper of the Year awards — this is his only signed Black Prizm card in existence.”
