Bastian Schweinsteiger

Why this one matters.

“Wherever Schweinsteiger goes, winning seems to follow." That is how Panini introduces a man whose medal collection includes the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Champions League and a mountain of Bundesliga silverware, and whose signature runs across this Optimum Patch Autograph in bold gold ink. The jumbo window holds one of the most striking cuts in the entire #O-BS Gold run: a multi-color match-worn panel of red, white and blue cloth anchored by a white star and sweeping blue graphics, framed in the gold metal border that defines Eminence. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, the card carries an Authentic grade for the card itself while the autograph earns a perfect Auto 10. Together with the tri-color jersey, federal eagle and DFB ring cuts, this 4/5 is the fourth different patch variation from a five-card run — four of the five Gold copies, each with its own one-of-a-kind slice of a Germany match-worn jersey, and every one a flawless-ten signature. The card back tells the next chapter: after lifting trophies with Bayern Munich and Germany, Schweinsteiger crossed the Atlantic to join the Chicago Fire of MLS. A club that had finished dead last in both 2015 and 2016 rose to third in the standings once "Schweini" arrived in the mix — proof, stamped in his own match-worn fabric, that winning really does follow him wherever he goes.”
