Why this one matters.
“The Burnley crest is a walking history lesson. At the top stands a stork holding a twig, said to commemorate a historic visit to the town; below it sit two bees — symbols of industry — flanking a hand, while the lion at the centre honours the royal connection, all wrapped in a ribbon bearing "BURNLEY FOOTBALL CLUB". Founded in 1882, as this card's back records, the Clarets were one of the twelve founding members of the Football League in 1888 and have kicked a ball at Turf Moor since 1883 — the longest continuously used ground in English league football. Burnley were champions of England twice, in 1920-21 and again in 1959-60, when they pipped Wolves by a single point on the final day, and they lifted the FA Cup in 1914, beating Liverpool at the Crystal Palace. The modern story has been a rollercoaster: Vincent Kompany led them to the 2022-23 Championship title with a record-breaking 101 points, an immediate relegation followed, and Kompany then departed for Bayern Munich. Scott Parker steered them straight back up in 2024-25 with another 100-point campaign, finishing runners-up to Leeds United on goal difference while conceding a Championship-record 16 goals across 46 matches, returning the Clarets to the Premier League. This Topps Chrome Club Crests Superfractor preserves the full heraldic shield on the gold-vinyl one-of-one tier, the sole copy in existence, graded a strong PSA NM-MT 8 (Cert 153056004). Paired with the Turf Moor stadium card, it is the ultimate two-card tribute to one of English football's most storied founder clubs.”
